New Mexico should use state money to keep Medicaid coverage if federal funding falls.
About a third of New Mexicans are covered by Medicaid, and 2025 federal law will reduce federal Medicaid funding in coming years. Using state money would keep more people covered and require other budget trade-offs.

So that way when we have a shift in the federal administration, that we don't end up losing the programs because we don't have the opportunity or the ability to fund some of these things on our own
