Large data centers should pay the full cost of new power plants and grid upgrades built to serve them.
Utilities often spread the cost of new power plants and transmission lines across all their customers. This would charge the cost of capacity built for large data centers, many of them serving artificial intelligence, to those data centers.

Our leaders are throwing subsidies and tax incentives at data centers, which jack up energy prices for consumers and make our communities unpleasant to live in without giving anything back.
I don't think anybody's power bill should go up a cent for these data centers.
