Minnesota should pause approval of new large data centers.
Several large data centers are planned in Minnesota, and a 2025 law set new fees and water rules for them. A pause would halt new approvals while the state studies effects on power and water.

As governor, my focus will be on making sure that Minnesotans — not Big Tech — have the final say on data centers, and that involves strong state standards and local control. If Minnesotans don't want a data center in their community, I don't want it there either.
